Job Description



Job Title: Power Operations Assistant Engineer
Sector: Technical

Reporting to: Power Operations Support Manager

Main Job Purpose:

The primary objective of this role is to provide support for the daily operation and maintenance of sites,
such as diesel generators, control systems, rectifiers, batteries, UPS, air conditioners, power stabilizers,
electrical wiring, and inverters. Implement and conduct periodic preventive maintenance, as well as
address corrective and emergency maintenance needs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Perform preventive, proactive, and corrective maintenance for main sites, administration, and
customer care sites according to the scheduled plan.
2. Diagnose and resolve power issues using specialized testing equipment.
3. Implement energy-efficient practices and technologies to optimize power consumption at the main
sites.
4. Provide technical support for projects, planning, and field operations, ensuring timely collaboration
and assistance.
5. Monitor and maintain Power Operation and Maintenance KPIs (such as Availability, Reliability, and
Fault Rate).
6. Track fuel, electricity, and power equipment performance by completing daily and weekly
checklists.
7. Carry out daily maintenance tasks and routine checks for all power equipment at the site.
8. Use power testing tools effectively for routine assessments and troubleshooting.
9. Ensure proper maintenance and protection of maintenance tools, power testing equipment, and
company resources from damage and loss.
10. Report unresolved faults to technical support, particularly those requiring modifications to control
systems, advanced electrical troubleshooting, or significant equipment failure.
11.Comply with health and safety protocols by conducting risk assessments, monitoring the work
environment, following established procedures, and using appropriate personal protective
equipment (PPE).

Technical competencies:

1. Power Systems Knowledge: Expertise in maintaining and evaluating the feasibility of installing
power systems such as DC systems, UPS units, batteries, generators, inverters, solar systems, air
conditioning units, synchronization panels, ATS, and distribution panels, taking into account
space, power and cooling requirements, and feeder availability at the LV panel.
2. Diagnostic and Troubleshooting Skills: Skilled in utilizing the appropriate tools and methods to
diagnose and resolve common issues in both DC and AC power plants.
3. Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Procedures: Knowledgeable in implementing preventive
and predictive maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure the efficient performance and
extended lifespan of power equipment.
4. Huawei Expertise: Proficient in working with Huawei power devices, including UPS systems,
rectifiers, solar systems, and electric power generators.
5. Rehabilitation and Improvement: Ability to enhance and optimize the performance of power
devices and equipment through rehabilitation and improvements.
6. Strong Understanding of Operation Maintenance Methodologies: Applies comprehensive
knowledge of maintenance strategies to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment.

Job Requirements 


(Education, Training or certificates, Experience, Language):
▪ Education: Diploma in Telecommunications, power electrical engineering, engineering, or a
related field.
▪ Experience: 1-3 years of experience in relevant fields.
▪ Languages: Good in English/Arabic (Written& Spoken)
