Job Description
Job Title: Fiber Installation NW Engineer
Unit: Fiber Installation
Section: Fixed Access Planning & Operation.
Department: Technology Planning & Deployment
Division: Technology.
Sector: Technical.
Reports To: Fiber Installation Manager.
Main Job Purpose:
The main purpose of this role is to assist in the design, implementation, and optimization of fiber and copper network infrastructure to ensure a seamless customer experience within agreed Service Level Agreements
Duties & responsibilities:
1. Resolve fiber and copper service requests in a proper manner
2. Repair any issues or damages to the fiber and copper services
3. Install new fiber and copper services as required
4. Deliver new services to customers within the target Service Level Agreement (SLA)
5. Perform regular maintenance on the delivered fiber and copper services to ensure continuous
operation
6. Conduct cost surveys for BBS (Broadband Services) customers
7. Follow up and support the execution of the surveys by subcontractors, ensuring adherence to
standard specifications
8. Maintain the inventory of fiber and copper cables and their accessories
9. Ensure the proper storage and availability of these materials for deployment
10. Follow up and support the closure of customer complaints
11. Provide support in addressing Trouble Tickets (TTs) from the Call Center, Network Operations
Center (NOC), and related systems (BCC4, Code PBM, and sales modules)
12. Maintain and update the as-built drawings for existing and new fiber and copper line links,
including sewer hole routes
13. Support the documentation process for modernization and expansion projects

to quickly identify and resolve issues with fiber and copper services.
2. Network Repair and Maintenance: knowledge of fiber optic and copper cable systems,
including splicing, termination, and repair procedures.
3. New Service Installation: Expertise in planning, configuring, and deploying new fiber and
copper service installations according to standard practices and customer requirements.
4. Service Level Agreement (SLA) Adherence: Ability to coordinate and prioritize work
activities to ensure new services are delivered within the target SLA.
5. Preventive Maintenance Procedures: understanding of recommended maintenance
activities and schedules to optimize the performance and lifespan of fiber and copper
networks.
6. Inventory Management: Proficiency in maintaining detailed records and tracking the
inventory of fiber and copper cables, connectors, and associated accessories.
Job Requirements
▪ Education:
o Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field,
▪ Experience:
o 1 year of experience in the installation, repair, and maintenance of fiber optic and copper cable networks.
o Working knowledge of fiber optic and copper network technologies and protocols
o experience in network configuration, testing, and troubleshooting
o Programming and scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash)
Languages: Excellent English and Arabic language.
